Dealing with “those days…”

I’m pretty sure everyone knows what days I’m talking about. Those days where you know you should be doing something, but can’t seem to muster up any motivation. Where you can’t figure out why you feel blah. Yeah, I’m having one of those days.

I could blame it on the heat. Or the fact that I’m still recovering from yesterday when the children and both dogs were all terrors, or maybe the fact that I stayed up too late last night and slept like crap. I’m not going to blame it on anything though, because these days are a fact of life. Everyone has days where they feel blah for no paticular reason, and I’m here to tell you that it is perfectly okay. No really. It is, and I’m going to give you some tips for dealing with these days.

I would like to point out that if every day seems like a blah day for you, I encourage you to talk to someone about it. Feeling down in the dumps on a regular basis can be a sign of depression, and it is very important to get help for that. There is no shame in doing so. There is a huge difference between constantly feeling blah, and just having one of those days once in a while. For those once in a while days, read on!

-First of all, stop feeling guilty. Today I skipped half my daily chores, and had a lazy day with my kids. And you know what? That is okay. There is nothing wrong with taking it easy for a day. I promise all that housework will be there tomorrow, unfortunately it’s not going anywhere. It is okay to give in and be lazy once in a while, but not if you can’t enjoy it.

-Once you finally stop feeling guilty, embrace the being lazy and do something that you enjoy, and wouldn’t normally be able to do. Read that book you haven’t gotten around to finishing (or starting). Give yourself a mani or pedi. Play a video game. Watch your favorite tv show. Put the kids to bed early and take a bubble bath. There is nothing wrong with indulging a bit.

-Don’t be afraid to have a treat. A slice of cheesecake or some chocolate is not going to kill you. My go to treat is a Mt. DEW. I love that stuff. We all know soda is not good for you, so I generally try to limit how often I drink it, but once in a while its the perfect treat.

-Listen to some of your favorite songs. There have been countless studies on how music can affect your mood. A certain song can bring back so many memories. Choose something that makes you happy and blast it!

Even though today was one of those days for me, I made it enjoyable by just relaxing with my kids and watching movies. Now that my husband is home and the kids are in bed, I’m going to treat myself by trying out a new face mask and cuddle on the couch with my man and watch our favorite show.

Above all else, just remember. Everyone has days like this. It’s totally normal. The important thing is to not let it get you down too much. Make the best of it! There’s always tomorrow.

Patience is a virtue, just not one I have!

I love instant gratification. Don’t get me wrong, some things are totally worth waiting for. Sometimes, that wait is just SO HARD. Sometimes I feel like life is just a waiting game. I’m waiting for my little peanut to say mama instead of hearing “da da da” all day. Waiting all day for my husband to come home from work because I miss him like crazy. Patiently (okay not so patiently) counting down the days till vacation….

Today, it’s all about waiting for POSH NIGHT! what the heck is that? Oh just the night when Perfectly Posh is going to reveal all their new fall/winter products! Not only is that super duper exciting, it also means my starter kit is FINALLY GOING TO SHIP! Yes. Please.

In case you have no freaking idea what Perfectly Posh is, it’s an amazing company that provides spa-grade pampering products at awesome prices. Everything is natural and good for you, with no fillers, and is cruelty free. There are also a ton of vegan options! Everything is made in the USA too. My favorite part? Everthing is $25 or less. (Which means my broke ass can actually afford the products!) Top that off with $5 flat rate shipping, and the fact that they believe everyone deserves to be pampered (and I totally agree!). Awesome right?

I participated in an online Posh Party my BFF hosted a while ago, and after seeing all the awesome products I decided to place an order. Everything sounded great, plus I wanted to help out my girl ya know? Well I got my order and I fell in love. My skin hates me. Finding products that don’t break me out, give me a rash, or make me itch like crazy is seriously difficult. The day I got my order and tried everything out, I joined Posh as an Independent Consultant, that’s how much I loved everything (which is impressive, I am hard to please 😛 ).

Since I ordered right before the catalog change when they fade out the spring/summer products and bring in the new fall/winter products, that means I’ve had to wait for my starter kit to ship. The August starter kits are going to be filled with brand new product. So so so exciting.

I cannot wait until I get to see what is going to be in my kit tonight. I cannot wait till I get the email saying my kit has shipped. I cannot wait to share all this new awesomeness with everyone so they can pamper themselves.

If you want to know more, feel free to get ahold of me. Im going to go keep myself super busy today by catching up on some cleaning and tackling my massive pile of laundry.

Happy friday!!
